Services

We are open from 8am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday. To ensure we can provide appropriate time and care for our patients, all consults are by appointment – including seeing a nurse. Please do not “walk in” to the practice without an appointment.

For those unexpected moments when you may need assistance after 5.30pm, please ring the practice and you will automatically be transferred to the after hours service.

Shared Medical Appointments - SMA’s

SMA’s are a series of consecutive individual medical consultations in a supportive group setting so everyone can listen, interact, and learn. Typically, they last for about 1 hour and comprise of 6-12 patients, a provider, and a facilitator. Research shows SMA’s benefit patients across several areas: giving them greater education for self-management, extra time with the provider, answers to questions they might not have thought to ask, more extensive educational and medical input, emotional support and understanding from peers, and reduced long-term cost of their healthcare.

Speak with your provider or nurse to see if any of the sessions would be suitable for you to attend.

Clinical Pharmacist

Our clinical pharmacist works together with patients to help them get the best from their medicines. Our pharmacist meets with patients, in the practice or at home, to review current medicines and medical conditions, and provide health advice or suggest changes to your medications. The pharmacist is the medicines expert in our practice and provides education and answers questions about medicines for the rest of our team to keep us up to date! Clinical Pharmacists in General Practice work with the wider healthcare team in the community and in hospital services to ensure your medicines are necessary, safe and effective.

When you meet with our Clinical Pharmacist, they will help you to learn about your medications and why you take them. They can also check you are taking your medications correctly, help to simplify your medications, and answer any questions you might have about your medications or medical conditions.
